ACPF teaches managers to conduct short, crucial, focused, intense, and personal conversations with employees, often lasting just one to seven minutes. This directly addresses the concern of managers who feel they do not have time for lengthy coaching sessions, ensuring the skills are immediately applicable. The aim is to develop the ability to quickly get to the heart of things in brief, succinct conversations. Managers are empowered to adopt a laser-beam focus on the actions of the job and the person's performance, streamlining the coaching process by making specific assumptions about the employee's job knowledge and skills.

Sensory-Based Communication for Clarity

A key focus of the training is on detailing the specifics of goals, performance, things done right, and things done wrong using sensory-based terms. This approach enables clean, precise communication, preventing misunderstandings and fostering clarity for employees. Participants learn to ask clarity questions to facilitate clear thinking, moving beyond vague language to specific details. This includes learning sensory-based praise (specific, factual, and heartfelt feedback on exact actions) and sensory-based reprimand (addressing specific behaviors directly while separating the behavior from the person).

Immersive Bootcamp Format

ACPF is an 8-day intensive bootcamp, running from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. This immersive design is intended for accelerated and deep learning, facilitating "overlearning" to profoundly integrate skills into the unconscious mind, leading to genuine expertise and competence. It's described as a "baptism" or a "retreat" that encourages self-discovery and the addressing of personal blind spots. Participants are strongly encouraged to fully focus without multitasking during these 8 days to maximize comprehension and retention. The program aims to present what would typically take a year and a half at a university within this intensive 8-day period.

Structured Skill Development and Benchmarking

ACPF includes a rigorous benchmarking process and assessment to objectively measure a participant's skill development and identify specific areas for continued growth. The benchmarking is tailored to a manager's context, specifically focusing on the ability to swiftly address the core of an issue in brief conversations. It emphasizes that developing competence in communication skills, such as listening (which has 22 subskills benchmarked in Meta-Coaching), is difficult and requires intense practice, not just intellectual understanding.

Emphasis on Long-Term Integration

Acknowledging that true competence takes time, the training provides foundational knowledge and strategies, and encourages continued practice in practice groups and deliberate practice post-bootcamp. The training itself is considered only the starting point, with actual skill development continuing for a month, or even two or three months afterwards, through regular practice.
